The Next Era In Flamelsess Joining Stytems.
StreamTech : Adhesive Joining System

Is StreamTECH made in the USA?

Yes.

How long is the warranty for StreamTECH fittings?

50 years.

How long after I apply adhesive to a fitting can I test the system?

180 minutes for CU-20 (Standard Formula) at 72°F.

Is the adhesive system compatible with Brass and Bronze?

Yes.

How hot or cold can the ambient temperature be and still have the adhesive bond as it is designed?

Bonding is designed to be achieved down to absolute zero; however, the rate at which adhesive flows from the applicator is affected below 40°F. For this reason, it is recommended that for overnight storage the adhesive be kept as close to room temperature as possible. The adhesive will cure slower at colder temperatures and faster at higher temperatures.

What is the maximum operating temperature for the product?

The system has been rated for and thoroughly tested with 180°F water and in 180°F ambient conditions. System will accommodate infrequent excursions up to 212°F.

Is the StreamTECH System compatible with chilled, heating, & condenser systems?

Yes, the system is rated to -40°F and is fully compatible with ethylene and propylene glycol systems. Call for support in more extreme environments.

How do StreamTECH joints hold up in freezing temperatures?

The joints will not be affected by cold temperatures as long as the media in the pipes is not allowed to freeze.

Has the system been tested by 3rd-party listing agencies?

Yes, the StreamTECH system has been tested and approved by IAPMO, ICC and NSF for piping systems including potable water.

Are valves available with StreamTECH ends/connections?

Yes, valves are currently available from Apollo Valves (Conbraco).

Does the StreamTECH system require the use of special valves?

No, use of soldered valves or threaded valves with adapters is also recommended.

How close can I install a StreamTECH fitting next to another StreamTECH fitting?

These fittings can literally "butt up" next to each other and perform as designed.

As an inspector, how do I know I am looking at a good joint?

There will be a visual indication of the adhesive extending from the shoulder of fitting around the entire circumference.

Can I solder or press (crimp) a StreamTECH fitting?

No.

Is StreamTECH approved for underground use?

Not at this time.

Do installers need to be certified to use StreamTECH?

No, but training is available.

How can users disassemble a StreamTECH joint?

There is no known solvent, so the bond is permanent once the adhesive has cured.

What should a user do if a StreamTECH fitting leaks?

Cut out the problem area and re-install properly.

Is StreamTECH compatible with cleaning agents used to disinfect new water distribution systems?

Yes.

Can I use a different epoxy or adhesive that claims to be compatible with copper?

No. The warranty will only cover StreamTECH fittings joined with StreamTECH adhesives, which are custom formulations provided by 3M.

Can you make wet repairs using the StreamTECH system?

The procedure will be similar to using solder technology for the repair. The fitting cup and exterior of the tube must be dry before making the joint.

Can I use StreamTECH for medical gas, fuel oil, or refrigerants?

Not at this time.

What if I get adhesive on my skin?

Wipe off with a rag or alcohol wipe.

Are the laying lengths of StreamTECH fittings the same as Streamline solder fittings?

In most cases the laying lengths will be the same.

Are flow rates through StreamTECH fittings the same as with solder fittings?

Yes.

How close can I solder or use a flame to a StreamTECH fitting?

Use of a wet rag or other heat-sink will allow soldering within three pipe diameters of a StreamTECH fitting.

Can I install a StreamTECH fitting without a Lip-Seal?

No, the seal/adhesive combination provides superior reliability when installed according to manufacturerÕs instructions.
