StreamTECH's Exclusive one-way lip seal.
It all starts with StreamTECH’s one-way lip seal, which provides more surface contact, therefore better sealing than traditional O-rings. It also acts like an internal wiper to evenly disperse the adhesive over the entire surface of both tube and fitting and adjusts to imperfections in the surface of the copper tube. This results in the most reliable sealing mechanisms among mechanical, heat-free joining systems.
Precision-Engineered, Stepped-Taper Diameter Fittings
Every StreamTECH™ fitting is designed with a unique “step-taper diameter” construction. That means the internal diameter of the fitting behind the engineered seal is the same diameter of a traditional soldered fitting (ASME B 16:22), while the diameter of the fitting outside the seal is slightly larger to accommodate a thin layer of structural adhesive between the tube and fitting. The result? A stronger, tighter fit for straighter, more professional-looking joints and runs.
Installation Procedures.
StreamTECH fittings use the same familiar installation procedures as soldered fittings, except they use ST-WELD™ two-part epoxy adhesive instead of heat and solder.
- Apply a small bead of ST-WELD™ adhesive around the tube. (fig. 1)
- Insert the fitting onto tube. (fig. 2)
- You then have 20 minutes to position the fitting and adjust the run for a professional appearance. (fig.3)
